About us

Who Are We?

Our foundation promotes international youth exchange programmes in Bavaria. We were established in the summer of 2021 by the Free State of Bavaria.

International youth exchange programmes give children, teenagers, and young adults from different countries the opportunity to meet each other and work together. They experience other cultures and learn new languages, and through all of these new experiences, they become more self-confident and tolerant.

Our goal is to enable every young person in Bavaria to participate in an international youth exchange during their secondary school education or vocational training. To accomplish this, the foundation has an endowment of 30 million euros, to be used over a ten-year period.

What Do We Do?

Network With Entities Involved in Youth Exchanges

We collaborate with our partners to create innovative exchange formats that enable young people to participate in youth exchanges. To accomplish this, we network with all entities throughout Bavaria that are involved in youth exchanges and seek out new partners to join our mission. Our work with schools, youth centres, clubs, associations, municipal authorities, and companies allows us to develop new opportunities for exchange projects.

Provide Information on Applying to Youth Exchange Programmes

Our website is the starting point for people with questions about exchange programmes and funding opportunities within Bavaria. We connect people with the best point of contact for their needs. Through targeted public relations and social media activities, we also ensure that young people, their parents, their teachers, and youth workers have access to the information they need.

Promote Exchanges with Specific Target Groups and Regions

We promote exchanges with specific target groups and regions. Our own target group is young people who until now have seldom had the opportunity to take part in an international youth exchange programme. We particularly focus on students in Bavaria’s lower secondary schools, special needs schools and vocational schools. Geographically, our focus is on Israel, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom and the African continent.
